There are already some clues in his design, but some inspirations will be apparent later in the story (no spoilers!). For the most part, I think I just wanted to draw a monkey. I’m sorry this isn’t more interesting.
BONUS: I remembered I still have some old art of him. He hasn’t changed much apart from ditching some extraneous features and becoming more compact overall. Images under the cut.
I personally attribute it to his little teddy bear nose. Others claim fluffiness.
Mainly just whichever ones I happen to think are cool/cute.
Hey, anon! They can also use telepathy among themselves or on non-Myods (though non-Myods would have to respond verbally, lacking the ability).
No spoilers!
Hey, anon! It’s usually apparent from a young age whether a Myod will have the ability. Those with records of the ability in their ancestry can keep an eye out for signs that it’s emerged in their child(ren), but the most obvious sign (to Myods) is usually characterized by an abnormal ‘energy signature,’ for lack of a better term. If you remember the brief mention of Myodic Force in the racial primer, every Myod has a unique presence or aura detectable by other Myods, sort of like how we each have our own unique scent. In normal circumstances, it’s comparable to a dull buzz and largely fades into the background after initial detection, though the most erratic signatures have induced physical symptoms such as headache and nausea (no such Myods exist in the current timeline). Othello’s feels sort of like a steady pulsing, but it isn’t unpleasant for others.
I think so! I’ve mainly just been trying to remember that just because a character/animal is incidental doesn’t mean I can’t do anything with them besides serve as a vehicle for Kedamono or another main character to move to the next task.
I doubt it’ll be Kedamono-level, but he’ll have some silly body language for sure! I’ve done up a few gestures of him here.
Human with cow? Definitely not. You’d likely just end up with a long-faced human with hooves instead of nails and possibly horns (maybe sort of like this guy, except not a ram). Cow with human? Iffy. Minotaurs and regular cows are pretty distinct from one another and don’t really share the same facial/body structure or colorings, so if you saw a cow superbeast, at best, something would seem really off. A cow superbeast would probably look more like Tauren than PoL minotaurs.
